Enhancing glass with mechanical, aesthetic or water-repellent properties, PCAS' wide range of organometallic compounds, like the standard, fluoridated or modified acetylacetonates,
is compatible with the most commonly used glazing techniques such as CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposit), SPD (Spray Pyrolysis Deposition), but also with sol-gel technology.
Through its Canadian subsidiary, PCAS is a player in organic electronics, which includes OPV (Organic Photovoltaic Polymers) and OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) technology. We develop conducting polymers that are used in electronic circuits and photovoltaic cells.
Metallic Acetylacetonates (ACACs)
With over 20 years' experience and technical expertise, PCAS has developed over thirty organometallic formulations destined for the surface treatment of glass or float glass. With a range of over 10 products in routine production, in powder or solution form, the simple or modified acetylacetonates suit the most specific applications of glass manufacturers.
Particularly adapted to Spray Pyrolisis Deposit technology, these products can also be enhanced and applied by CVD technology.
Besides providing coloring and aesthetic effects to the glass, thin film deposit of PCAS organometallics helps to:

Fluoridated metallic oxides for low emissivity glazing
PCAS' fluoridated metallic oxides are used to give glass low emissivity properties. A film of only 0,3 µm of these fluoridated metallic oxides reflects 85% of the heat emitted.
Organic photovoltaic polymers are less expensive production tool for renewable energy than the materials used in traditional photovoltaic cells, like silicon and gallium arsenide. The organic polymer in solution form can be deposited on
large segments, at room temperature, by means of ink-jet printers. These materials are flexible and can be bent, unlike silicon panels. Finally, they can be modified to some extent at the molecular level to absorb or emit different wavelengths of the visible spectrum, thereby increasing the cell's quantic yield.
