Analytical Development

Analytical development support for synthetic chemists at various levels: Lab K-Lab, Pilot Plants, Workshops.

Analytical chemistry is a key supporting service from process development up to Quality Control testing. PCAS develops molecules to meet within specifications. A broad range of analytical methods are implemented, especially chromatographic ones, to ensure compliance to the specifications, identify impurities and much more.

Highly skilled and trained analytical chemists perform qualitative and quantitative analysis. They master the science of sampling, defining, isolating, concentrating, and preserving samples. They set error limits, validate and verify results through calibration and standardization, perform separations based on differential chemical properties, create new ways to make measurements, interpret data and communicate results.

A wide range of chromatographic techniques

  • Gravimetry
  • Spectroscopy (atomic absorption, ultraviolet-visible, infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance...)
  • Mass Spectrometry
  • Thermal Analysis (calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis)
  • Separation (GC, HPLC, Head Space-GC, Gel permeation chromatography)
  • Hybrid Techniques (GC-MS, LC-MS)...

Scale-Up

Kilo-laboratory

Kilo-Lab reactor is currently used for the early scale-up and the first significant quantities.

Kilo-lab equipment: 15 L, 30 L, 50 L and 60L reactors.

Pilot workshops

Integrated into R&D, the pilot is a key link in the transfer to production and fully operating under ISO 9001 environment.

Pilot equipment consists of :
  • double jacketed Inox reactors and or glass-lined with temperature range - 15°C- +150°C ( from 100 L up to 800 L)
  • 100 L distillation column ( 2 mm Hg vacuum)
